Less Than a Week to Go: Why Unity Matters More Than Ever for Tallapoosa

Less Than a Week to Go: Why Unity Matters More Than Ever for Tallapoosa

Tallapoosa has always been more than just a city, it’s a family. It’s where neighbors check on one another after a storm, where small businesses still greet customers by name, and where a handshake still holds weight. This sense of community has carried us through hard times and celebrated our best moments. But lately, you can feel something different in the air, an uneasiness, a divide.

Like many small towns across America, Tallapoosa stands at a crossroads. Not just between political sides, but between two very different visions for our future. One vision looks backward, content with “how it’s always been.” The other looks forward, believing that responsible growth, transparency, and opportunity can make Tallapoosa stronger without losing its heart.

Over the past few years, I’ve listened to people from every corner of our city, business owners, parents, teachers, retirees, and young residents just starting their lives here. Their concerns may differ, but their message is the same: they want to be heard.

  • Some are tired of roads and parks falling behind while city funds go elsewhere.

  • Others are frustrated that small businesses struggle to open or expand because of unnecessary red tape.

  • Many residents simply feel left out, like decisions are being made for them instead of with them.

The truth is, our biggest challenge isn’t politics, it’s feeling heard and represented. Residents want to know their concerns matter, that their money is being used responsibly, and that the city’s growth will improve life for all, not just a select few.

That’s why I’m running for mayor, not to take sides, but to bring sides together. Leadership isn’t about who shouts the loudest; it’s about who listens the hardest. It’s about bringing people with different perspectives to the same table and finding solutions that work for the greater good.

My vision for Tallapoosa focuses on three key priorities that unite rather than divide us:

  1. Invest in Shared Spaces: Roads, parks, and community facilities shouldn’t just be maintained—they should be improved in ways that make all residents proud.

  2. Empower Local Business: Our small businesses are the backbone of this city. We’ll modernize permitting, cut unnecessary obstacles, and create programs that attract new jobs while supporting the ones already here.

  3. Strengthen Communication & Transparency: Every resident deserves to know how their money is spent and why. As mayor, I’ll make city government open, accessible, and accountable to you.

We can’t afford to let frustration turn into division. Not now. Not when Tallapoosa’s potential is so clear. The choice next week isn’t about party or personality, it’s about whether we’ll move forward together or stay stuck in the past.

I believe in this community because I’ve seen what happens when we pull together. Whether it’s volunteers fixing up a park, business owners supporting a local event, or families showing up to cheer on our teams—Tallapoosa thrives when we act as one.

In less than one week from now, you’ll have the chance to decide what kind of city we want to be. Let’s choose progress rooted in respect. Let’s choose growth guided by responsibility. Let’s choose unity over division.

Let’s build a Tallapoosa that rises together.
